RIDER OF GLORY
Share
Featured Scriptures: Revelation 19:11-16, Daniel 7:13-14, Isaiah 11:4
The next time the heavens open, Revelation does not show us a baby in a manger. It shows a King on a white horse. His eyes are like fire. His name is the Word of God. Kingdoms stand before Him, and written upon Him is the title no earthly ruler can claim: King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
"Rider of Glory", featured on The End Is Glory, looks towards the victorious return and eternal reign of Jesus Christ. The humility of His first coming gives way to the unveiled majesty of His return as Faithful and True. The song follows the Rider from the opened heavens towards the defeat of earthly opposition, declaring that no kingdom, army or authority can withstand the rule of Christ.
Revelation 19:11-16 provides the song's central vision: heaven opens and Christ appears upon a white horse, judging in righteousness, His eyes like blazing fire, many crowns upon His head and the name "Word of God" identifying the victorious Rider. Daniel 7:13-14 reaches back to Daniel's vision of the Son of Man receiving everlasting dominion, glory and a kingdom in which all peoples and nations serve Him. Isaiah 11:4 foretells the righteous King who judges with justice and strikes the earth with the rod of His mouth. Together, these passages reveal a reign that is not won through human politics or earthly power, but established by the authority of the eternal Christ.
An opened heaven. A white horse. Eyes of fire. Many crowns. A hidden name. The winepress of judgement. Earthly kings gathering only to break "like waves" before Him. "Rider of Glory" builds its imagery around the overwhelming authority of Christ, then turns the scene towards worship as darkness ends and the saints lift their voices. The title "Faithful and True" matters as much as the images of power: the returning King is the same Jesus whose character and promises have never changed.
For anyone searching for Christian songs about the Second Coming, songs about Jesus riding the white horse, worship inspired by Revelation 19:11-16, songs about King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Faithful and True, the Word of God, Daniel 7:13-14, the Son of Man, Isaiah 11:4, the return of Jesus, Christ defeating earthly kingdoms, end-times prophecy, the eternal reign of Christ, the winepress in Revelation, Jesus as Judge and King, or heaven opening at Christ's return, "Rider of Glory" turns those prophetic images into a declaration of who ultimately rules history.
The Child who once entered the world in humility will not return unnoticed. "Rider of Glory" looks towards the day when heaven opens, every rival kingdom yields and the identity of the true King is unmistakable. Faithful and True. The Word of God. King over kings. Jesus Christ, reigning forever.
