Before Judgment Comes the Call: whispering HOPE Unveils To the Church

Before Revelation shows us what will happen to the world, Jesus speaks to His Church.

To the Church, the fourteenth release in the whispering HOPE collection, turns to the opening chapters of Revelation and the words of Christ to the seven churches. Across eight songs, the album moves from the vision of Jesus among the lampstands into seven messages of love, endurance, truth, holiness, awakening, faithfulness and wholehearted devotion. Before the seals are opened or judgments begin, the Church is called to listen.

“The Voice Among the Lampstands” opens with Christ walking among His churches, not distant from them but present, seeing and knowing what is taking place within each one. “Ephesus: Love Restored” confronts the possibility of holding firmly to truth while allowing first love to fade, calling the heart back to intimacy with Jesus. “Smyrna: Crown of Life” speaks into suffering with the promise that faithfulness is not forgotten and eternal reward lies beyond what believers endure.

“Pergamum: Hidden Manna” calls the Church to resist compromise and remain anchored in truth even when the surrounding culture pulls another way. “Thyatira: Eyes of Flame” turns towards the searching gaze of Christ, before whom nothing is hidden and every heart is fully known. “Sardis: Wake the Dead” confronts the appearance of spiritual life without its reality and sounds an urgent call to awaken.

“Philadelphia: Open Door” carries the promise of Christ’s authority and the door no one can shut, while “Laodicea: Lukewarm” closes the album with perhaps its most personal challenge, calling believers away from complacency and back to a wholehearted faith that burns for Jesus.

All eight songs were written by Shimron Fernando, with music and production by Gresha Schuilling and mastering by Shimron Fernando.

For Shimron Fernando, To the Church is built around the fact that the messages of Revelation are both confronting and deeply restorative:

“These words were spoken to real churches, but their warnings, promises and invitations still make us examine our own hearts. Jesus corrects because He loves His Church. Each song carries that tension between truth and invitation, because the purpose of the call is always to bring His people back to Him.”

For Gresha Schuilling, the production needed to give each church its own emotional world while preserving the sense that one voice is speaking through the entire album:

“Each message carries a different weight, from lost love and persecution to compromise, awakening and lukewarm faith. I wanted the production to change with those emotions without making the album feel fragmented. Through all eight songs, the listener should feel that it is still Jesus walking among the lampstands and speaking to the Church.”

To the Church is not simply a record of what Christ said two thousand years ago. It places His words before believers again: return, endure, repent, wake up, hold fast and listen to what the Spirit says.
