Until the King Returns: whispering HOPE Looks to the End of the Age

Before the world sees the returning King, the Church is called to be ready for Him.

Until the King Returns, the ninth release in the whispering HOPE collection, traces a prophetic journey through Scripture from Christ entering the world to His coming reign. Across eight songs, the album moves through intimacy, worship, watchfulness, judgment and deception, never losing sight of the One at the centre of the story: Jesus Christ.

“The King of Heaven Came for Us” begins with the wonder of God made flesh and the torn veil that opened the way into His presence. “The First and the Last” lifts the vision to the throne room, where Jesus Christ, the Lamb who was slain, reigns in eternal glory. “Back to Our First Love” brings the message home to the Church, confronting the distance that can grow between serving God and actually walking closely with Him.

“We Will Keep Watch” becomes the response, calling believers to holiness, dependence on the Spirit and joyful expectancy as the Bride prepares for Christ’s return. “The Age of Sorrows” turns towards the judgments of Revelation, revealing not meaningless chaos but the righteous response of the Lamb to a world that has rejected God. “When the Trumpets Sound” intensifies the warning as judgment becomes a final call to repentance.

“Beautiful Lie” exposes the counterfeit peace and deceptive kingdoms that rise against the truth of Christ, before “The Final Outpouring” brings the album to its prophetic climax as God’s righteous judgments reach their completion and the way is prepared for the visible reign of the Lamb.

The album’s lyrics were written by Shimron Fernando, with music and production by Gresha Schuilling and mastering by Shimron Fernando.

For Shimron Fernando, Until the King Returns is ultimately about how believers live while they wait:

“These songs follow prophecy with a deep sense of responsibility. Revelation is not there simply to make us fascinated with what happens at the end. It calls us back to Jesus, to truth, repentance, watchfulness and hope. The question running through the album is what kind of people we will be until the King returns.”

For Gresha Schuilling, the production was shaped around that unfolding prophetic journey:

“The album needed to feel like one story moving forward. It begins with Christ coming near, rises into worship, turns inward with the call to return and keep watch, then moves into the weight of what is still to come. The production follows that progression so that the darker moments never become the destination. Jesus and His coming reign remain the centre.”

Until the King Returns is not an album about predicting dates or living in fear. It is a call to love Jesus, recognise deception, remain watchful and stand anchored in truth while history moves towards the reign of its rightful King.
