When Everything Sounds True: whispering HOPE Unveils Truth Has a Name

Not every voice that sounds convincing speaks truth. Not every light that shines comes from heaven.

Truth Has a Name, the twentieth release in the whispering HOPE collection, is an eight-song Christian album about discernment in a world filled with competing voices, convincing imitations and paths that promise life. Rather than leaving believers focused on deception, the album keeps returning to the answer: truth is ultimately recognised by fixing our eyes on Jesus.

“Your Voice Is Louder” opens in the noise, where voices compete for attention and even lies can wear spiritual language. Against them stands the voice of the Shepherd, calling His people back to the gospel and the security of belonging to Christ. “Not Every Light Is Heaven” turns from sound to sight, confronting the reality that something can appear beautiful, promising and even spiritual without reflecting the true light of God.

“Guard My Heart From Lies” brings the battle inward, asking God to protect the mind from confusion and return every wandering thought to Christ. “Sweet Words, Bitter Fruit” looks beyond how something sounds to what it eventually produces, exposing flattery and attractive promises that lead away from life while declaring that truth stands on Christ alone.

“Do Not Be Deceived” shifts the imagery to seed and harvest, exploring how hidden choices eventually produce visible fruit and calling listeners to live from truth today. “Test Every Spirit” then makes discernment explicit, weighing what is heard against the nature of Jesus and recognising that what truly comes from heaven will withstand examination and bear good fruit.

“The Narrow Way” moves from recognising truth to walking in it, presenting Jesus not merely as the One who points towards the path, but as the way Himself. “Eyes Fixed on Jesus” closes the album with the simplest answer to all the competing signals that came before: stop looking in a thousand directions and fix your eyes on Christ.

The lyrics across Truth Has a Name were written by Gresha Schuilling, Rachel Samuel, and Shimron Fernando, each contributing different songs to the album. Music and production are by Gresha Schuilling, with mastering by Shimron Fernando.

For Gresha Schuilling, the production was shaped around making the difference between noise and truth increasingly clear:

“This album begins with competing voices, false light and confusion, but I never wanted deception to become the centre of the record. Musically, the journey keeps moving towards greater clarity. By the final songs, there is less attention on everything trying to distract us and more attention on Jesus. That is where discernment should ultimately lead.”

Rachel Samuel reflects on the lyrical tension running through the album:

“Deception is rarely convincing because it looks obviously wrong. Often it looks beautiful, sounds reassuring or seems close enough to truth to make us hesitate. These songs ask us to look deeper, at the fruit, at the direction and ultimately at whether something leads us towards Jesus or away from Him.”

For Shimron Fernando, the sound needed to carry both the warning and the confidence behind it:

“There is tension in these songs, but there is also certainty. The goal was never to create an atmosphere where believers are afraid of being deceived. The sound gradually becomes more grounded because the message does too. We test what we hear, we recognise what is true, and we stand firmly in Christ.”

Truth Has a Name begins surrounded by voices and ends with one clear direction. Discernment is not a life spent staring at counterfeits. It is knowing the truth so well that what does not reflect Him becomes easier to recognise.

Truth is not merely an idea to defend.

Truth has a name: Jesus.
