When Heaven Comes Near: whispering HOPE Unveils Closer Still

Some prayers are whispered. Some change everything.

Closer Still, the thirteenth release in the whispering HOPE collection, is a five-song Worship Collective EP that moves through strength, answered prayer, dependence, the authority of Jesus and joy that survives the storm. At its heart is one simple movement: when life presses in, faith does not have to pull away. It can draw closer still.

“Stand in Your Strength” opens with quiet resolve, finding the courage to stand not in human ability but in the strength and victory of God. “When We Called Your Name” captures the turning point where prayer rises, the name of Jesus is called, and fear begins to lose its voice.

“Need You Closer” moves from prayer into holy dependence, expressing a hunger for God’s presence that is deeper than circumstance. “Name Above It All” lifts the focus entirely to Jesus, declaring His name above fear, battles and everything that tries to take His place. “Joy That Cannot Fade” closes the EP with what remains after the pressure, a joy that has passed through valleys, scars and waiting and still refuses to disappear.

All five songs were written by Gresha Schuilling, with music and production by Gresha Schuilling and mastering by Shimron Fernando.

For Gresha Schuilling, Closer Still is about what happens when difficult moments become an invitation into greater intimacy with God:

“These songs come from the places where faith becomes very real. When you need strength, when you call His name, when you realise His presence is not simply something you want but something you cannot imagine living without. The journey of this EP keeps moving closer to Jesus, until even after the storm, joy remains.”

For Shimron Fernando, preserving that sense of nearness shaped the sound:

“The songs needed to feel close rather than oversized. There is strength in them, but the strength comes through intimacy. We wanted the sound to leave room for the words and emotion so that even as the EP builds, it never loses that sense of God being near.”

Closer Still moves from needing strength to discovering something deeper than simply surviving the battle: the God we call upon is the God who draws near, and His presence changes what remains when the storm has passed.
